The Tour Down Under is excited to announce a groundbreaking partnership with Uplay Disc Golf, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organisation, whose mission is to improve the health and well-being of communities through the provision of disc golf education.
Since its inception in 2017, Uplay has introduced disc golf to over 25,000 children across four continents, aged 4 to 18, along with hundreds of educators and coaches. Founder and Director of Uplay, Zoe Andyke, will be in attendance for the 2024 Tour Down Under season in New Zealand, alongside some of the world's foremost professional disc golfers who serve as Uplay ambassadors. This unique occasion provides an exciting opportunity to introduce disc golf to students and educators around New Zealand in tandem with the Tour Down Under's events.
During their visit to New Zealand, Uplay's primary focus is to impart sustainable disc golf coaching methods to students, educators, and youth organisations. Additionally, they aim to introduce Uplay’s teaching methods to disc golf advocates and community leaders at Tour Down Under event locations. Participants will engage in a hands-on session led by Zoe and Uplay Ambassadors and engage in an introduction to Uplay's teaching methods via the "Uplay Disc Golf Basics" curriculum book.
This exciting partnership not only furthers Uplay's mission to promote disc golf education and community well-being, but also marks a groundbreaking initiative to accelerate the growth of disc golf in New Zealand. Together, Uplay and the Tour Down Under will introduce disc golf to hundreds of students and educators across New Zealand, forging new ground in the pursuit of our shared goals.
