A New Era: The Australasian Open
The 2026 season introduces a bold new chapter with the Australasian Open—a rebrand of the historic Taupō Classic. Hosted at Spa Park, New Zealand’s premier globally ranked disc golf venue (#75 on UDisc's Top 100), the Australasian Open is set to become a pinnacle event for the Oceania region.
Tournament Director Steve Lawson shared his excitement:
"We couldn’t be more thrilled to launch the Australasian Open as part of the Tour Down Under. Taupō has long been at the heart of disc golf in New Zealand, and with Spa Park standing among the best courses in the world, this event is our chance to showcase world-class competition right here in Aotearoa. We’re raising the bar—not just for the Tour Down Under, but for the global disc golf community.”
